Our history
The beginnings
The story of Bébou begins with two sisters-in-law, Sonia and Delphine. Through their own experiences as mothers, they realized how quickly children grow and the challenges this creates in managing their clothes. Not only is it impractical and financially difficult to redo a child's wardrobe every couple of months, but buying so many clothes for such a short period is also far from sustainable.
This inspired them to offer second-hand clothing boxes for children and maternity wear, combining practicality with sustainability. This is how Bibou’tic, the predecessor of Bébou, was born.
After six years of pouring their hearts and souls into the business, with all the ups and downs that entrepreneurship entails, their situation changed and they began looking for successors to take over.
The next generation
It was at this moment that their paths crossed with entrepreneurship students Caryl, Diego, and Henry. Together, they also wanted to launch a sustainable project for children's clothing. When they came across the Bibou’tic takeover offer, they stepped forward to give the company a boost and bring their experience in management and entrepreneurship. After discussions, an agreement was reached to transfer ownership, and Bibou’tic became Bébou.
The future
From now on, we are building on the foundations laid since 2017 to develop our project further. Our goal is to tailor our offerings as closely as possible to the needs of our customers. To achieve this, we have launched our brand-new platform, bebou.ch, along with a new subscription system.
At Bébou, we firmly believe it’s entirely possible to live a fulfilling life while respecting our precious planet. We strongly believe that maternity and baby clothing shouldn’t mean excessive spending or an early end to their useful life in a drawer.
Our ambition is clear: to make it accessible for everyone to dress for all occasions while maintaining strong environmental responsibility. We are committed to being champions of these innovative and sustainable solutions.
