Sustainability
According to the World Economic Forum, the textile industry is currently the second most polluting industry after oil. Despite this, demand for clothing is expected to continue growing, rising from 62 million tonnes in 2015 to 102 million tonnes by 2030. Meanwhile, the average lifespan of garments has been decreasing since the 2000s due to the rise of fast fashion. This factor, combined with a very low recycling rate—less than 1% of materials used—puts increasing pressure on natural resources.
-
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Each time you rent a baby or maternity garment, you help save the water, electricity, and greenhouse gas emissions required to make a new piece.
-
Reduce waste
Clothing rental helps cut down on garments thrown out and ending up in landfills. In fact, one in three expectant mothers or parents have thrown away perfectly good clothes for themselves or their babies simply because they didn’t know how to find them a new home.
-
Extend the lifespan of clothes
By renting, we prolong the life of clothing by sharing them among several expectant mothers and babies.
-
Giving clothes a third life
Every garment in our boxes is carefully chosen to ensure quality equivalent to new items. Once they are no longer rentable but still wearable, we give them away for free to different charitable organizations.
